About us
Twenty-five years of looking after Montclair's children
Apple Jacks Pre-School C.C. was established in July 2000. Today we're a busy, happy school with good-sized classrooms, a large play area and lots of outdoor space.

Safe, registered and hands-on
All of our classrooms are fitted with CCTV for security, and every member of staff has had a security check done. We are registered with both the Department of Education and the Department of Health.
Rooms are generously sized so children have space to work in small groups, and the outdoor area is big enough for real running, climbing and pretend play every single day.

Family-run and part of the Montclair community for 25 years.
CCTV & vetted staff
Cameras in every classroom and security checks for all staff.

Community project
Adopt a Verge — best verge in Durban
Owners Norman and Linda May took over the verge on the corner of Alamein Avenue from the local scouts and have cared for it ever since — mowing, clearing and planting indigenous gardens two to three times a week with handyman Nkululeko Ndaba.
In eThekwini Municipality's Best Verge 2022 competition, Apple Jacks was nominated by a community member and announced the winner of the school category — a small, practical way to teach our little ones that they belong to a neighbourhood, and that looking after it is everyone's job.

Learning through play, all day
Between the boat, the bridge, the shopping centre and the safari lodge, our grounds give children endless stories to step into. Along the way they practise sharing, language, balance, counting and confidence — the foundations for big school.
